About
Children get options. Adults keep responsibility.
Little Red Comes Home is a picture book for children aged four to six. The Wolf’s Tricks is the family and classroom programme built around it. Together they are an attempt to do one thing well: make it ordinary for a young child to tell a grown-up when something is not okay, and ordinary for the grown-up to believe them.
The principle everything else follows from
Red escapes in the story. Escape is never the measure of a child’s innocence or success. A child may freeze, comply, become confused, stay silent, tell later, tell much later, or never fully understand what happened. None of that changes where the responsibility sits.
What this is not
- It is not an approved curriculum, and it is not accredited by anybody.
- It is not a substitute for a school board’s safeguarding policy or an educator’s reporting duties.
- It is not clinical, legal, or child-protection advice.
- It is not evaluated. No claim is made about what it achieves.
How it is being built
Deliberately in two tracks. The book, the adult-facing guidance, and the free printables are ordinary publishing and are moving now. Anything delivered to children by a third party — the classroom sessions, any pilot, any measurement involving children — is gated behind child-development, CSA-prevention, survivor-informed, legal and institutional safeguarding review, and will not move until those are done.
We publish our own harm assessment, including the risks we rate as serious, because we would rather be corrected early than defended late.
Survivor review
A resource about child sexual abuse published without survivor input is not a resource we are willing to publish. Survivor readers are compensated, may decline any part of the work, are never asked to disclose anything about their own experience, and are credited only if they choose to be. Material concerns raised are documented along with our response to them.
